Listening and responding to brokers needs has been a central pillar for Aqueous since its inception and remains at the heart of the business today. That is why we are delighted to have just appointed experienced insurance market veteran Jon Aston as strategic account manager.

Jon’s background, which includes senior roles at insurers including Aviva, Travellers, and Zurich – along with his insight and market knowledge of forging and maintaining relationships with brokers of all sizes – will be a real asset to Aqueous as we look to grow and develop our SME package solutions and UK professional indemnity.

Jon knows from first-hand experience the different and nuanced needs of brokers, be they local high street operators or major national networks. And he shares the Aqueous philosophy that whilst relationships are crucial, they must be backed up by real, focused broker service and speed and reliability when it comes to turning around quotations. Aqueous, as Jon says, excels in this area, with its slick spontaneous e-trading platform or, in the case of referrals, by being able to get an empowered underwriter on the line in a matter of minutes. All of course backed up by Allianz’s award-winning claims service.

After a few weeks of orientating himself internally with the business, Jon will be taking to the road to visit brokers across the country – both our existing partners and of course, to open new doors and to develop new relationships. And if you see him over the next few months, he likes his tea milky and not too sweet….
